We're proud that we are certified by PETA and that all of our products are cruelty-free – meaning they have not been tested on animals at any point of their development. But what about vegan beauty products? Vegan isn't the same as cruelty-free, although the terms are commonly confused. You may be among the vegan-curious beauty lovers out there asking: What’s the difference? So let's explore.

What is vegan beauty?

There is no universal definition of vegan beauty, but the generally accepted meaning is that a vegan product will not contain any animal or animal-derived ingredients.

That’s how we define it, too – when a product of ours is labelled as vegan, it means no animal or insect was used to create any part of that product. This includes secretions, such as honey, lanolin, beeswax and carmine. These animal by-products are often used in beauty formulations, but you won’t find any of them in our vegan products.

It’s important to note that vegan ingredients don't always have to be natural. Many are natural – but you’re just as likely to find innovative, safe-synthetics that have been produced to mimic popular non-vegan ingredients used by the industry. They’re just as effective and safe as their non-vegan counterparts.

Is La Perla Beauty vegan?

For those of you who have chosen a vegan lifestyle you will be glad to know that most of our products are vegan, but not all. Therefore we don’t call ourselves a vegan brand. However, you can easily identify our vegan products as each product page is clearly marked with a special vegan symbol.

We would love to introduce you to some of our vegan products and dive deeper into their ingredients that make them truly beautiful inside and out.

Venetian Red Matte Silk Lipstick

All of our lipsticks are vegan, but we've singled this shade out because it's the definitive red. It makes a sophisticated companion to any scenario – from Zoom calls to the biggest events. The fact it's vegan and cruelty-free only helps to enhance its confidence-boosting magic.

Our innovative Matte Silk formula is as rich in silky emollients as it is in pigments. It's defined not only by its exceptional, one-stroke colour payoff but also its luminosity.

Pigments and emollients are sometimes created from animal-derived ingredients, making some lip products unsuitable for vegans. But our carefully chosen ingredients are all vegan, as well as beautifully effective. Innovative bio-inspired pigments mimic the biology of the epidermis to ensure comfort and bold colour. Meanwhile, natural and safe-synthetic alternatives to animal-derived waxes and emollients improve skin barrier function help with hydration.

La Perla Signature Eau de Parfum

Our house signature Eau de Parfum is not only made from luxurious sustainable ingredients, it is also vegan. Inspired by La Perla’s rich heritage and the many unique expressions of femininity it celebrates, the fresh citrus top notes, floral spicy jasmine heart and elegant woody drydown will show your caring side in a truly luminous way.

Nourishing Body Balm

Deliciously creamy and lightly fragranced, this moisturising wonder was created to add sheer indulgence to your self-care ritual.

Our vegan formula is 94% natural and harnesses the unique power of prebiotics to pamper your skin and keep it at its healthiest. These innovative ingredients work to balance the epidermis' levels of 'good' bacteria, which strengthen the skin's barrier and stimulate hydration. We particularly love the protective and hydrating effects of Prebiulin Aga, a natural prebiotic extracted from chicory roots and agave. Pracaxi Seed Oil is an additional protective component which is rich in essential fatty acids. Meanwhile, Rambutan Peel Extract is another natural favourite used for deep nourishment and skin barrier health.

Invisible Touch Eau de Parfum

This floral, woody blend works its magic like soft cashmere over delicate lace. Capturing the sensation of La Perla lingerie caressing your skin, our Invisible Touch Eau de Parfum is also vegan. The scent is a sheer, feminine blend, with sustainably sourced Ylang Ylang underpinned by the delightfully unique sensual tones of innovative musk Sorbettolide.
